Taste: Copious dark cherry fruit notes with a white pepper characteristic emblematic of the Zweigelt grape.  Lifted acidity and soft tannins define the cherry flavor-filled palate.

Additional info:

Zweigelt grapes are hand-harvested in early September.  Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with 3-weeks of maceration.  Aged 10 months in used barrique barrels.

Weingut Netzl is a family farm & winery in the Carnuntum region of Austria, about 20km east of Vienna.  Franz & Christina Netzl took over the 69 acre farm from Franz's father in the 1980's and have since passed the viticultural reins to their daughter, also named Christina.  She has been farming the property using organic principles since 2018.
