Additional info:
Picked with low sugars and vigorous natural acidity. Two-thirds of the grapes were whole cluster pressed and the remaining one-third was crushed with two days of skin contact. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve minerality, aromatics, and freshness. Aged on lees for four months.

La Marea is a small and exciting California winery focusing on Spanish varieties founded by Ian Brand of Le P’tit Paysan. It is Brand's belief that San Benito and Monterey have optimal climactic conditions and soils for Spanish grapes such as Albariño, Garnacha, and Monastrell. The Kristy Vineyard site in particular features limestone soils, receives abundant sunshine, and the cooling influence of desert nights as well as a moderating proximity to Monterey Bay, all factors that are well-suited to the Albariño grape.
