Hervé Rafflin took over his nearly 200 year-old family winery in 2001. All of the vines planted to their 5 hectare estate in the heart of the Montagne de Reims are certified organic. The majority of the Rafflin vineyards are planted to Pinot Meunier, with small amounts of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier (20% of all holdings) for good measure. The estate puts out anywhere from 5,000 to 13,000 bottles annually, depending on the vintage. The wines are delicious, unpretentious, and always reflective of the growing season and the unique terroir of the Montagne de Reims. At Rafflin, nature dictates business, not demand.
